How to prepare "cooked fruit dressing"

2 eggs
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup water
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt

combine all ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil. remove from heat

when cool, pour over sliced apples, sliced bananas or grapes. nuts and dates may be optionally added.
